Director’s Note: Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds at Jubilee Theatre

Bob Marley's Three Little Birds, both the musical, children's book, and the song, conveys a powerful message: don’t let the fear of what could go wrong prevent you from living your life. This show is also about the importance of community in overcoming your fears and anxieties. As someone who often feels cynical and stressed about the future, it has been refreshing and therapeutic to come to rehearsal every day with my community and work on a production that reassured me that I don’t need to be consumed by worry because everything will be okay.

Bob Marley inspired the world to live fully, stand up for what is right, embrace community, and have hope that things will work out. It’s exciting to introduce Marley’s inspirational music to the next generation. My hope is that when you leave this show, you do so with a smile, knowing that every little thing will be alright.

And because this is a children’s show, I want to share a quote from one of the greatest characters in children's literature:

“Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?'

'Supposing it didn't,' said Pooh after careful thought.

Piglet was comforted by this.” - A.A. Milne
